Ena Sugiyama, Japan

Ena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Studies from the department of British and American Studies at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan. She also studied at the University of Wisconsin at Madison as an exchange student. Ena’s professional experience include her work in the private sector in Japan as a member of international sales engineering department, and as an intern in the conflict resolution program at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia during the summer of 2003. Ena has been involved in service activities by sponsoring children in rural areas in the Philippines for their better access to the education through NGO ChildFund Japan of ChildFund Alliance. Following the completion of her Master’s degree in Political Science at UNC as a Rotary World Peace Scholar, Ena has been working for The Nippon Foundation in Tokyo, Japan, currently as a senior project coordinator in the international programs department.
