Pravin Dixit, a native of India, completed his Rotary World Peace Scholarship in 2004 with a Master’s in International Development Policy from Duke University. He has received degrees in international studies from J. Nehru University in New Delhi, and in Political Science from Pune University. He also holds a diploma in German literature. In high school, Pravin was active in both his local Rotaract and Interact Clubs and served as President of the Pune Interact club. Pravin has dedicated his career to national security and service in his home country, an internship with Save the Children in summer 2003. He began his career working for the Indian Police Service and later moved into training in Police Administration and training to government officers, functionaries from NGOs and local governments, where his motto was “service of the people.” During his 27 year career, he has earned the government of India’s Presidential Police Medal for meritorious service as well as an award from the Director General of Police Maharashtra for his outstanding work.
